My name is Lara Warn & this is Shirley - one of the dogs on my very first transport as a rescue volunteer.

Since driving that van to save Shirley in 2023, I’ve since transported 200+ dogs to safety from high intake/high euthanasia rate municipal shelters on behalf of the shelter I volunteer with in St. Pete, FL.

Once Shirley arrived to safety at the shelter, she was vetted, fed, watered & sheltered.

She was then available for adoption and was quickly scooped up by a wonderful family.

Without the rescue group ‘pulling’ her from the over populated shelter, she may have been euthanized due to no fault of her own.

Rescue groups require money to keep going and after learning about the current animal welfare systems & regulations, I decided to roll up my sleeves and see what else I could do.

RESCUE CREW FOUNDATION was an idea born after a particular tough transport when I fully understood that private rescue groups are the necessary puzzle piece during this current crisis.

The goal of this foundation is simple - get more money to the ethical private rescue groups pulling dogs from high intake shelters.

Dogs like Shirley.

We will build this foundation through grants and with the help of private donors like you.

We will work with private rescue groups like the one I volunteer with to ensure our foundation’s funds are put to use in best interests of the dogs.

Thank you for helping us stand up for the underdogs who deserve a chance at LIFE.
